Location: This position will work in a hybrid model with both work from home (remote) days each Monday & Friday, as well as on-site days at the West Des Moines, IA office each Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Zirous offers a flexible schedule so that you can work to meet clients needs and your personal needs.On-site days as described will be required for this role, local candidates within the Des Moines, IA metro will be given priority.
Job Summary:Zirous is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Human Resources Coordinator who is eager to learn and work in all HR related functions; including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, benefits administration, and compliance.
The ideal candidate is organized, has strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role will have a direct impact on creating and maintaining the one-of-a-kind culture at Zirous. Position will report to the Vice President of People & Culture.
What You’d Be Doing:
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Assist in job postings, resume screening, and interview coordination. Will participate in networking events and campus recruitment career fairs.
- Prepare offer letters and conduct background checks.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including paperwork, orientation, and training coordination.
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.
- Maintain and update applicant records in the ATS system.
Employee Engagement:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide HR policy guidance.
- Assist in organizing employee engagement initiatives and company events. Coordinating on-site group lunches as needed.
- Support leadership in fostering a positive work environment.
Benefits & Compliance:
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Including the processing of ACA related forms and 401(k) compliance plan testing processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Maintain confidential employee records and documentation.
HR Operations & Support:
- Process payroll-related changes and maintain accurate timekeeping records.
- Generate HR reports and assist with audits as needed.
- Support training and development initiatives.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 1-3 years of HR-related experience preferred including but not limited to; recruitment, benefits administration, payroll processing, and event coordination.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Knowledge of HR laws and best practices is a plus.
- Previous experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
- Previous experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is a plus.
