Job Description:
JOB TITLE: CORPORATE INTERNAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEERJOB LOCATION: Orem, Utah
REPORTS TO: Director, Internal Construction Management
FUNCTION: The Corporate Internal Construction Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the pre-construction and construction activities of internal construction projects within the organization.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values;
- Oversee large utility infrastructure projects and other projects as assigned;
- Participate and lead in preconstruction efforts
- Develop and track project schedules;
- Assemble, organize, and implement project budgets;
- Manage and review job estimates;
- Work with project teams to resolve project issues and risks;
- Prepare, track, and approve project submittals and transmittals;
- Implement standards and specifications in projects design and construction;
- Maintain insurable driving record;
- Resolve procedures, complaints, and construction issues;
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements;
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and designated modes of operation;
- Perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills;
- Strategic thinking skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Bluebeam, Pro-Core, general accounting software and critical path scheduling software;
- Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods of construction;
- Ability to foresee and resolve project risks.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- BS in construction management or civil engineering;
- Two years of management experience in commercial and/or industrial construction.
- Experience with large utility infrastructure preferred;
- Experience in preconstruction preferred;
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sedentary work, lifting to 50 lbs. of force occasionally
- Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment
- Able to physically negotiate various site environments
- Frequent automotive travel to job sites, meetings, and work locations
