QA Production Supervisor

SMV Recruiting is partnering with a great client looking for a 2nd Shift QA Supervisor in Syracuse, NY. In this role you will lead, manage, train and support around 60 employees during the 2nd shift from 1pm-10:30pm. Responsibilities:

• Manage around 25 QA employees on 2nd shift on the production floor
• Coordinate production, housekeeping, and support activities, ensuring paperwork accuracy
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, GMPs, OSHA guidelines, and company policies, procedures and contracts
• Develop employees through training and positive communication
• Uphold compliance with the union contract and administer fair disciplinary actions
• Meet or exceed production targets consistently
• Support teams in achieving cost, quality, safety, service, and personal goals
• Provide guidance and assistance in resolving operational issues and employee issues
• Provide feedback regularly on reliability, safety, quality, and compliance to management and team members
• Support the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and prepare for audits and inspections and ensure completion of action plans post-audits
• Generate performance reports
• Prepare monthly reports and liaise with managers daily to ensure accurate reporting
• Assist the Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager and fill in for them as required

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Food Science, Food Manufacturing, Biology, or a related field is perferred
• 5-8 years of quality assurance experience in food manufacturing is preferred
• Familiarity with ISO standards, including ISO 22000 and FSMA is strongly preferred
• Certification in PCQI, HACCP, GMP, and sanitation is preferred
