Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Prevailing Wage Specialist to join our team in Redmond, WA. This position executes prevailing tasks for our Pacific Northwest operations and support payroll processing as needed.

**What You'll Get to Do:**

+ Recognize, input and code prevailing wage hours correctly into the payroll software.

+ File required prevailing wage forms and reports, such as intents, affidavits, certified weekly payroll reports and other required documents.

+ Enter certified payroll.

+ Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required by prevailing wage regulations, including accurate reporting of employee wages, fringe benefits, and hours worked on a project-by-project basis.

+ Work with sales team to understand upcoming prevailing wage jobs.

+ Research and respond to employee inquiries about pay.

+ Assist payroll team members processing payroll when needed.

+ Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.

+ Accurately calculate wages, benefits, and deductions according to prevailing wage rates and applicable laws.

+ Ensure compliance with prevailing wage regulations in all payroll activities.

**Experience and Skills:**

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

+ A post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline, and experience in the construction materials industry a plus.

+ At least one year of prevailing/payroll experience preferred.

+ Possess a high level of confidentially and professionalism working with HR, Corporate Employee Service Partners, management, and employees.

+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

+ Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to learn and retain rules and processes.

+ Extreme attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.

+ Excellent organizational skills

+ Unionized payroll experience strongly preferred.

+ Kronos payroll software experience a plus.

+ Strong customer service and quality focus.

+ Positive and upbeat.

+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and Teams)

+ Ability to take direction, exercise discretion, and work independently.

+ Reliable and dependable.

**Conditions of Employment:**

+ Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
