Staff Accountant

We are in search for a Staff Accountant to be part of our team in the non-profit sector, located in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. You will be part of a team of accountants where you will be tasked with various accounting duties, including managing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing journal entries.

• Efficiently process and manage accounts payable and receivable
• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Maintain and update the general ledger regularly
• Prepare and post journal entries for financial transactions
• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
• Work collaboratively with a team of accountants on various projects
• Assist with quarterly reporting and general ledger reconciliations
• Take on additional accounting tasks as required by the team
• Address and resolve any accounting inquiries that come up in your role
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions when needed. • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Should have proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
• Must be experienced in conducting bank reconciliations.
• Should have a strong understanding of the General Ledger.
• Must be able to prepare and maintain accurate journal entries.
• Should have experience in performing month end close procedures.
• Non-profit industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Should be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using accounting software is a must.
• Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Should have a strong ethical framework and understanding of confidentiality.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications is required.
