Facility Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager

Overview:

The HSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with legal regulations and organizational standards. This role focuses on fostering a safe working environment, mitigating risks, and promoting sustainability across the facility operations.

Responsibilities:

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HSE regulations.
  • Manage environmental programs related to waste management, air quality, and water usage.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
  • Lead pollution prevention and resource conservation initiatives.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct HSE training sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness across the organization.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records and reports.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Identify opportunities for HSE improvements and implement best practices.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications:

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Professional HSE certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001) are highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE management
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

Applicants for this role must be able to:

  • Lift boxes and packages weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Lift, bend, squat, and stretch to move boxes, parcels, and shipments
  • Climb small to medium flights of stairs multiple times a day
  • Standing for extended periods of time
