Facility Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager
Overview:
The HSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with legal regulations and organizational standards. This role focuses on fostering a safe working environment, mitigating risks, and promoting sustainability across the facility operations.
Responsibilities:
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HSE regulations.
- Manage environmental programs related to waste management, air quality, and water usage.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
- Lead pollution prevention and resource conservation initiatives.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct HSE training sessions for employees and contractors.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness across the organization.
- Maintain accurate HSE records and reports.
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
- Identify opportunities for HSE improvements and implement best practices.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging regulations.
- Other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications:
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Professional HSE certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001) are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE management
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Physical Requirements
Applicants for this role must be able to:
- Lift boxes and packages weighing up to 60 pounds
- Lift, bend, squat, and stretch to move boxes, parcels, and shipments
- Climb small to medium flights of stairs multiple times a day
- Standing for extended periods of time
