Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in School Nurse 1:1

Shift Timings: 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

"This is a Part-Time Role for 4 days only"

Student Details:

Duties: Assist student with monitoring of medication and overall wellbeing and behavior affiliated with diabetes.

Description:

• Regularly monitor the student’s blood glucose levels and respond appropriately to fluctuations.
• Administer insulin or other prescribed medications as needed, following established care plans.
• Ensure that the student’s medication is administered accurately and on schedule.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and healthcare providers about the student’s medication needs and any changes in condition.
• Observe and assist the student with behaviors that may be related to blood sugar fluctuations, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Provide support and reassurance to the student during episodes of hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.
• Work closely with teachers and school staff to ensure the student’s needs are met in the classroom environment.
• Keep emergency contact information and supplies readily available at all times.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for the student.
• Participate in meetings and provide updates on the student’s health status and care plan.
• Educate school staff on the student’s condition and how they can support the student’s needs

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
