Equity Research Associate- Media & Entertainment, Telecom & Cable
About the Role:
Wolfe Research is seeking an experienced Associate to join its NY Based Institutional Investor-ranked Media & Entertainment, Telecom & Cable Team. The Associate will report to the Senior Analyst and collaborate with the team. The role will immediately contribute to all aspects of the franchise including modeling, writing, and analysis.With expertise, responsibilities will expand to include calls and meetings with clients, communication with Wolfe sales/traders, and idea generation. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, self-direction, and a great deal of critical thinking.
Strong writing, financial modeling, accounting, Excel, and PowerPoint skills required. Experience in equity research, investment banking, public accounting, consulting or in the industry is preferred.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in sell-side or buy-side equity research (preferably on a Media and/or Telecom Team), investment banking, public accounting, consulting or strategy/finance in covered industries.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus
- Advanced understanding of financial modeling and valuation, experience building and maintaining 3-statement models
- Series 7, 63, 86 & 87 preferred or expected to be completed within the first 6 months
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self starter eager to produce and gain responsibility in a fast-paced, competitive, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated academic ability with a minimum 3.5 GPA
- Comfortable with 10+ hour workdays and some weekends
