A Mechanical Handling Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Richland, WA area. This role designs material handling systems, prepares reports and procurement docs, and coordinates with teams, requiring engineering experience and CAD skills.

salary: $29.00 - 62.69 per hour
work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Mechanical Handling team designing material handling equipment, treatment and vitrification systems, and supporting utilities.
  • Prepare technical reports, studies, procurement documentation, and design documentation.
  • Perform engineering calculations using software and support system development.
  • Conduct and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work within the project or staff group.
  • Perform conventional engineering practices using company's Standard Application Programs.
  • Utilize 2-D and 3-D CAD/CAE tools such as Solidworks, IGRIP, and Microstation for design work.
  • Coordinate with systems engineering and other groups to develop equipment requirements.
  • Review and address field change notices, non-conformance reports, and condition reports.

Skills:

  • Proficient in engineering and design software, including 2-D and 3-D CAD tools.
  • strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations for complex engineering projects.
  • Experience preparing standard engineering deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Grade 24: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering with 3 years of related experience.
  • Grade 25: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering with more than 3 years of related experience.
