Part Time Accountant

Our client is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on making a positive impact to the community; they are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their on a part-time basis to help manage their financial operations. Position Summary: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial functions, including budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and compliance.
The ideal candidate has experience in non-profit accounting, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Develop and monitor the organization's budget and assist in the budget preparation process. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and grant requirements.
Prepare for and coordinate annual audits. Handle payroll processing and tax filings. Assist with grant reporting, tracking restricted funds, and financial analysis for new programs or initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial support and guidance.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Strong understanding of non-profit financial regulations, including GAAP is a plus – not a must. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
