Responsibilities/Qualifications:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and secure carriers to move freight in a timely and cost-effective manner, while developing effective core carrier relationships.
- Utilize OMS/TMS system to track and manage customer shipments.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure transportation procurement needs are met.
- Provide consistent and exceptional service levels to carriers and internal customers.
- Assist in the preparation of annual Transportation budget and analyze monthly variances.
- Analyze our transportation network and develop proposals for service, capacity, and cost improvements.
- Manage carrier contracts, scorecards, and KPIs.
- Aligning carriers with business objectives to ensure seamless operations and profitability.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Cross-trained in multiple transportation positions
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years’ experience in Transportation/Logistics.
- Proven experience within a Logistics, Transportation, or Distribution Center processes and systems
- Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook, TMS applications
- Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Thorough understanding of surface transportation management terms and concepts.
- Ability to work flexible shifts/hours.
Strong project management skills
