Accounts Payable Specialist

We are offering a short term contract/contract to hire opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Orlando, Florida. This role is set in the entertainment industry and requires a detail-oriented individual to handle various accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process customer credit applications and maintain precise records
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions
• Verify, receive, and reconcile invoices to control expenses
• Ensure invoices and expense reports are accurately charged to accounts and cost centers
• Schedule and prepare checks for vendors while verifying federal id numbers and monitoring discount opportunities
• Resolve discrepancies in purchase orders, contracts, and invoices
• Issue stop-payments or amendments to purchase orders when necessary
• Maintain accounting ledgers through verifying and posting account transactions
• Reconcile monthly statements and related transactions to verify vendor accounts
• Keep historical records by microfilming and filing documents
• Record entries and verify documentation when disbursing petty cash
• Calculate requirements on paid invoices to report sales taxes
• Keep information confidential to protect the organization’s value
• Stay updated with accounting knowledge by seizing educational opportunities
• Ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner and all discrepancies are resolved by monitoring aging.
• Proficient in Account Coding and applying it in various financial operations
• Skilled in using Accounting Software Systems for streamlining financial processes
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services for efficient financial management
• Familiarity with Concur for expense management
• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for better business process management
• Ability to perform a wide range of Accounting Functions
• Proficient in managing Accounts Payable (AP) operations
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting and its application in business finance
• Experience in Auditing, ensuring compliance with financial rules and regulations
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) for processing large volumes of credit and debit transactions
