We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Attorney/Lawyer specializing in IP Litigation to join our team located in Washington DC. This role involves handling patent litigation cases for our global law firm and contributing to the case strategy and trial logistics.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle patent litigation cases ensuring all legal proceedings are managed effectively
  • Draft pleadings meticulously to ensure they accurately represent the case at hand
  • Draft and respond to discovery as part of the information gathering process in litigation
  • Work closely with expert witnesses to ensure their testimonies align with the case strategy
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategy development
  • Assist in developing case strategies to optimize outcomes
  • Participate in trial logistics, ensuring all aspects of the trial are organized and prepared for
  • Monitor legal developments within the IP Litigation field to stay ahead of the curve
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a comprehensive approach to case handling
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the ethical standards of the legal profession.

  • Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed to practice law.
  • A minimum of three years of experience practicing law, with a focus on Intellectual Property (IP) litigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Strong research and report-writing skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in using legal research software and tools.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and build client relationships.
  • Demonstrated understanding of IP laws and regulations.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills to handle complex legal issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have strong ethical standards and integrity.
  • Experience in drafting legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong ability to present arguments in court effectively.
  • Must be able to handle a high volume of work and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be willing to continue learning to stay updated with changes in law.
