Environmental health & Safety Specialist - Trenton
Responsibilities:
Role Summary
The EH&S Specialist reports directly to the Senior Manager, Environmental Health and Safety. The Specialist is responsible for all EH&S related support functions for the EHS department including training coordination, creation and implementation of positive reinforcement programs, tracking and maintaining metrics, creating reports, scheduling and meeting with vendors, and invoice processing.This role works closely with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance teams as well as support staff in order to accomplish the site’s EH&S compliance goals. This is an extremely fast-paced role which requires the ability to be flexible, prioritize, multi-task, and meet multiple deadlines.
Essential Job Functions:
Assists in the development and implementation of EH&S policies, procedures and programs in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations (OSHA, NFPA, EPA, NJDEP, MCUA, etc.).
Coordinate waste disposal activities and review/maintains documentation (e.g., waste manifests).
Collaborates with facilities management on air and storm water permit activities.
Collects monthly production air permit data and maintains log book for annual reporting.
Assists in the development, coordination and/or conduct training related to EH&S compliance.
Coordinate environmental related testing and monitoring.
Coordinate/conduct EH&S related inspections.
Maintain/communicate environmental performance, trend analysis and recordkeeping.
Track EH&S near misses and follow up on related issues.
Obtain/review purchase orders for vendors and submittal.
Collect data and reports on all EH&S incidents and is responsible for all record keeping and reports required by the regulations, including but not limited to OSHA 300 Log, etc.
