Construction Manager

Overview:
The Construction Manager is responsible for all tasks relating to the construction of new and remodeled restaurants, from initial planning stages to design, construction and ultimately turnover of the restaurant to Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Work effectively in support of the Director of Development and Construction to oversee the build and/or renovation of restaurants to successfully execute the Pollo Campero strategic growth plan.
- Design, implement and manage best construction practices for all phases of construction (e.g. pre-construction, post-construction, remodels, etc.).
- Help establish, maintain and manage the budgets for all construction projects. Value engineer current Pollo Campero practices and effectively implement cost savings. Work proactively to minimize change orders and assist in providing timely approval and accurate processing of invoices.
- Conduct site visits during the construction process to routinely monitor and report the performance of the general contractor, subcontractors and vendors.
- Effectively manage the vendor schedule to ensure accurate and timely ordering and delivery of all materials and equipment onsite.
- Work and communicate effectively with internal teams to document and communicate all schedule updates and changes.
- Lead the punch list and turnover process to Operations. Train restaurant management teams on their mechanical and building systems.
- Ensure internal databases are continuously updated. Assist in procuring all necessary close-out documents required for TI collection efforts.
- Provide construction support for all franchisees and their consultants for ground up, conversions, tenant finish out and remodels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of construction experience as a Construction Manager in the retail industry. Restaurant construction experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills required with the ability to successfully interact with internal partners, architects, contractors, permitting jurisdictions and third-party vendors.
- Must be a self-starter with an attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Must be able to work autonomously.
- Proficient in Microsoft office products and/or management software.
- Travel up to 20 – 50% as needed.
Pay Range: USD $130,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Hr.
