Job Summary

In this position, the pharmacist is a key member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced ambulatory care/clinical/community pharmacy setting. Whole Family Health Center relies on the pharmacist to deliver compassionate, quality, cost-effective pharmaceutical care in accordance with state and federal laws.
Our four clinic locations provide a wide range of services including pediatrics, family medicine, HIV care, behavioral health, research, community outreach, and pharmacy. Communication

Good oral and written communication skills are required for this position. The person in this position must be able to communicate with the patients, staff, and others; and contribute to a positive environment. The ability to communicate in Spanish, Creole, or both is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Complies with board of pharmacy, state, and federal law, ensuring all pharmacy personnel complies with all requirements. Conduct internal audits, maintain appropriate records, and supervise the work of all support staff.
  2. Responsible for driving overall compliance and business results of the pharmacy across operations, quality, clinical outcomes, and growth.
  3. Develops staff's pharmacologic knowledge by participating in clinical programs and provides drug information to staff, interns, and health care professionals.
  4. Performs pharmacist tasks including drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management. Reviews, interprets, and accurately dispenses prescribed medications.
  5. Models and share customer service best practices. Monitor and lead customer service initiatives to continuously improve quality and patient care. Resolves customer complaints.
  6. Monitors drug therapies, advising providers of potential interactions and contraindications.
  7. Assists patients with medication adherence issues due to insurance/financial and other life challenges.
  8. Maintains current licensure, strives to promote the practices of evidence-based medicine by keeping abreast of new drugs, devices, and medical literature.
  9. Communicate regularly with team members and makes hiring, promotion, and performance management decisions. Promotes teamwork and lead pharmacy team to accomplish WFHC pharmacy mission and goals.
  10. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  11. Demonstrates commitment to the pursuit of lifelong learning by attending professional meetings, regularly reviewing medical publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  12. Assists with development of monitoring protocols, and efficient and effective internal controls for the 340B Drug Program.
  13. Works as a multidisciplinary team connecting patients to available medical and patient care resources available at WFHC.
  14. Prioritizes dispensing and clinical duties effectively with minimal supervision.
  15. May occasionally need to travel from one clinic to another for coverage.
Education & Training
  1. Pharm D degree highly preferred.
  2. Current Florida Pharmacist licensure, certified to administer immunizations, in good standing or ability to obtain Florida Pharmacy License within 60 days of start date (if licensed in good standing in another state).
Experience
  1. At least 3 years of pharmacy manager experience required at retail pharmacy or community health center
  2. 340B drug program knowledge and experience preferred
  3. Infectious Disease and/or HIV Medicine experience preferred
Requirements
  • WFHC requires all employees, volunteers and contracted individuals working full or part time at any of our facilities to receive the COVID-19 vaccination
  • Level 2 background clearance required
  • Proof of immunizations for (1) Tdap, (2) MMR’s, HEP B vaccination, and either a history of chicken pox (varicella), or documentation of the varicella vaccine, a PPD Test is done once upon hire.

Compensation details: 128000-135000 Yearly Salary
