Responsibilities:
- Continuously observe patients’ cardiac rhythms via telemetry monitoring systems and promptly report any abnormal findings or arrhythmias.
- Run rhythm strips from the telemetry monitoring system as required by hospital protocol.
- Ensure the telemetry monitoring system is functioning properly, including monitoring battery life, rhythm clarity, and transmitter safety.
- Admit patients into the telemetry monitoring system upon arrival and discharge them when appropriate.
- Ensure accurate patient data is maintained and updated in the telemetry system.
- Ensure the needs of the patient population are met, adapting care as necessary based on factors like age, culture, language, and disabilities.
- Effectively communicate with patients, caregivers, and medical staff to provide optimal care and inform about telemetry monitoring.
- Regularly check telemetry system functionality, ensuring the equipment is operating at full capacity.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving minor technical issues related to telemetry systems.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 2 years of experience in a health-related field.
- 1 year of experience in cardiology or an associated field.
- Successful completion of a Monitor Technician course at a hospital facility.
- Passing score on the HUMC Monitor Technician arrhythmia exam.
- Exposure to and experience with computers and basic software applications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
