Patient Access Authorization Representative

We are looking for an insurance authorization specialist to join our Oncology Team! The new team member must have experience obtaining authorizations for in office procedures and surgical procedures. Experience in chemotherapy infusion authorization a plus.

Job Details:
- Obtain and confirm patient demographics and update patient profile.
- Obtain Authorizations for in house procedures and surgical authorizations
- Collect payment and/or assist patient with minor billing concerns.
- Scan pertinent information into EMR system (HIPAA compliance, authorizations, medical records, etc.).
- Respond to non-medical patient emails and phone calls.
- Demonstrate and embody the Womens Care mission and core values.
- Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Insurance Authorization and benefits experience
- Medical Billing
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- Preferably oneyear of experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting, OBGYN a plus.
- General knowledge of medical terminology is ideal.
- Preferred experience working with an electronic medical records system, e CW a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Deadline-driven and detail-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task in a high-volume and dynamic atmosphere.
- Ability to communicate and work efficiently with patients, co-workers, and providers.
- Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
