We are offering a Contract to permanent opportunity for a Sr Compliance Coding Analyst in the Healthcare industry, located in Chicago, Illinois. This role primarily involves conducting extensive compliance reviews of hospital and physician documentation, coding, and billing to conform to federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Thoroughly assess billing and documentation accuracy through detailed chart reviews.
  • Develop comprehensive reports detailing findings and suggesting corrective actions.
  • Identify and address risk issues within the organization, prioritizing as necessary.
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews to ensure adherence to governmental regulations within the hospital.
  • Stay informed on government billing regulations, third-party payer guidelines, ICD-9-CM, CPT/HCPCS coding standards, and payment systems.
  • Attend seminars, training programs, and review detail-oriented literature to maintain current knowledge of regulatory issues.
  • Contribute to the annual planning and formulation of the department’s work plan.
  • Initiate and implement documentation and coding improvement initiatives tailored for physicians and administrative staff.
  • Serve as a primary internal point of contact for coding and compliance concerns, offering timely resolution and advice.
  • Promote compliance initiatives via training sessions, newsletters, and individual education sessions.
  • Assist in the creation, update, and maintenance of compliance manuals, resources, and web content.
  • Collaborate in the development and sustainment of the Compliance Education Program.
  • Participate in other assigned duties to support departmental goals.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance coding role within the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance sectors
  • Proficient in using Cerner Technologies for various healthcare-related tasks
  • Demonstrated skills in auditing, able to identify errors and inconsistencies efficiently
  • Experience in managing billing functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
  • Ability to interpret and create charts and graphs for data visualization and analysis
  • Proficiency in claim administration, with a focus on accuracy and timely processing
  • Experience in clinical trial operations, able to understand and adhere to trial protocols and guidelines.
