Position Summary
During the internship, the Sonography Intern will be supervised by a preceptor to develop technical and professional skills through observation and hands on demonstration.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions Develop cognitive thinking skills to recognize patient conditions specific to age.
Learn to identify, acquire, and document pertinent patient history relative to procedures.
Develop ability to assess sonograms for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification ensuring all relative
anatomy is demonstrated.
Demonstrate knowledge of pathological processes and investigates various organs associated with process involved.
Adhere to all OH policy, procedures, guidelines, Code of Conduct, and Code of Ethics.
Learn correct use of corporate computer systems effectively and accurately.
Learn the necessary skills required of a registered OH sonographer so he/she will be prepared to work independently upon
graduation and successful completion of introductory period.
Other Related Functions Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
Maintain well-stocked and organized work area.
Work scheduled shifts as determined by preceptor and faculty approval.
May be required to work at any OH facility.
Perform other duties as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
Demonstrate competent use of ultrasound equipment.
Provide optimum communication with radiologist to promote team approach to patient care.
Knowledge of JC, Dept of Health, and other regulatory agencies related to field.
Protect patient’s privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
Education/TrainingMust be a senior student of accredited sonography program or school.
Licensure/CertificationCurrent BLS/HealthCare Provider certification
