Project Financial Analyst

Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a non-profit organization that is looking to add a talented Project Financial Analyst to the team. This role will involve a variety of tasks including processing and managing financial aspects of assigned projects, maintaining detailed financial records, overseeing the billing process and interacting regularly with various teams within the organization.

Responsibilities:
- Helps create and review proposal budgets for billing rate and expense accuracy and financial completeness, application of indirect costs per funder requirements and determining rate mark-ups and profits.
- Gains a detailed understanding of projects being developed by reading and reviewing relevant information including request for proposals, bid solicitations, and project maps
- Gains a complete knowledge of the grants or contracts and sub agreements and their deliverables and timetable, and invoicing requirements
- Reviews and approves subcontract and supply agreements and expenditures for compliance with procurement policies, grant and contract requirements and deliverables
- Assists project managers in aggregating required supporting materials for preparing revenue invoices and prepares the invoices for review in conjunction with Project Manager and Project Coordinator; ensures submission to funder is compliant with funder’s guidelines
- Reviews and processes A/P invoices and expenses for assigned projects and ensures subcontractors follow terms of their contracts
- Tracks receivables DSO and helping the Project Manager collect on outstanding A/R invoices and recovering retentions
- Participates in the billing process to ensure that all invoices are issued in accordance with company procedures and customer agreements
- Manages the accounts receivable, and follows up with funders to ensure prompt payment
- Coordinates with the accounting team to document and reconcile all incoming receipts.
- Assists in the collections process by contacting funders in case of late payment and resolving any dispute that may arise
- Regularly reviews and maintains a record of all financial transactions related to the billed projects
- Strives to enhance the efficiency of the billing and collections process through streamlining and automation.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Accounting with a minimum of three years of experience in a project management environment
- 3+ years of experience in a Financial Analyst role or similar position
- Proficient in Project Billing and able to demonstrate experience in this area
- Strong skills in Budgeting and Forecasting are essential
- Experience in Grant Accounting is required
