This position includes operating telephone control board and paging system, dispatching incoming calls, and paging internal and on-call clinical staff during and after regular business hours.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Answers phones and routes incoming calls to appropriate offices or personnel; Dispatch emergency Code calls to clinical personnel.
  • Processes paperwork in an efficient manner according to set procedures. This includes proper filing and distribution of clinical on-call schedules and wireless devices.
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
  • Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Medical Terminology certified or equivalent experience.
Experience/Skills:

Required:

  • Must have knowledge and experience with MS Office products (specifically EXCEL).
  • Must have accurate keyboarding skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to include proper vocabulary, spelling, grammar and sentence structure.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred:

  • Previous operator/switchboard and customer service experience.
