This position includes operating telephone control board and paging system, dispatching incoming calls, and paging internal and on-call clinical staff during and after regular business hours.
Major Responsibilities:
- Answers phones and routes incoming calls to appropriate offices or personnel; Dispatch emergency Code calls to clinical personnel.
- Processes paperwork in an efficient manner according to set procedures. This includes proper filing and distribution of clinical on-call schedules and wireless devices.
- Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
- Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
- Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Medical Terminology certified or equivalent experience.
Required:
- Must have knowledge and experience with MS Office products (specifically EXCEL).
- Must have accurate keyboarding skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to include proper vocabulary, spelling, grammar and sentence structure.
- Good customer service skills.
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred:
- Previous operator/switchboard and customer service experience.
