Recycling Sorter

Responsibilities:

Essential functions

• Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Inspect materials and categorize them into designated piles or containers for proper disposal or recycling
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance task in the facility
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
• Deposit recoverable materials safely and efficiently into appropriate chute.
• Maintain and efficient flow on the conveyor belt
• Exhibit the ability to distinguish between various recyclable materials.
• Ensure that all required personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn
• Demonstrate and adhere to all company core values
• Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor

• Shifts may vary Monday-Saturday
• 40+ hours a week

Work sites with dust, debris, and loud noise

Qualifications:

Physical demands

• Must be able to safely lift and move 50lbs or more at a time
• Prolonged physical exertions, including standing. reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and climbing

• NA

• One year professional experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)
• Waste industry experience
