Senior Automation Engineer

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years hands on experience in a high speed manufacturing environment where integrating and optimizing automation systems is a primary focus. Key responsibilities include: Ø Project manage multiple projects over multiple sites

Ø Collaborate with local teams to ensure process designs comply with all standards- SAFETY is a standard NOT a priority
Ø Develop interface agreements and align requirements with equipment vendors. Ensure our needs are met with the vendors of choice
Ø Maintain automation standards, specifications and detailed maintenance plans across the organization

Ø Develop annually an automation roadmap per site that shows a return in productivity or efficiency

Ø Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to determine the requirements of the machine and develop specifications for machine functions, user interface, and quality control for high reliability.
Ø Work closely with manufacturing to monitor and improve efficiency and output.
Ø Proficient in designing electrical control systems using AutoCAD/Solid works electric, pneumatic diagrams, enclosure/panel layouts, power, logic, and safety circuits.
Ø Design and engineer various industrial process control systems that integrate new and existing hardware and software.
Ø Design automated assembly line equipment and programming.
Ø Design automated test fixtures and maintenance.
Ø Program PLC based systems across multiple platforms.
Ø Developing the machine code in PLC or DCS systems as well as Human Machine Interface (HMI), software so that equipment functions as specified.
Ø Develop new software and hardware designs to meet machine requirements.

Ø Advance programming experience with AB/Rockwell software using compact/control Logix platform PLCS using studio designer 5000/RSLOGIX 500, Beckhoff controls programming with TWINCAT 2 & 3 and familiar with SIEMENS C++/C#/python/visual studio/SQL database programming

Ø Designing industrial HMI/OIT Panels with panel view plus OI panels using factory talk view studio (SE and ME) windows CE, basic networking, experience with Wonderware, indusoft, and 3 rd party HMI programs.
Ø Integrating many different types of hardware devices and I/O systems (sensors, actuators, pneumatics, servos/motion controls, robotics, lasers, printers, scanners, and many other types of devices).

Ø Machine vision systems.

Ø Assist with technical writing of scope of work, operating and user guides

Ø Research components and technology available from suppliers, determine ways to increase reliability of controls and reduce costs.

Ø Train and mentor peer group on automation concepts and skills.
