Guests are invited to enter a world where they are free to play, shop, dine, spa, meet or simply relax - however they define a perfect day. Situated on oceanfront Collins Avenue in the heart of Millionaire's Row, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach.
Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Rooms reports to the Vice President of Rooms. The Director of Rooms directly supports the short and long-term strategies for the Rooms and Operations Management Division. The professional in this role sets goals, monitors work and evaluate results to ensure that departmental objectives and operating requirements are met and in line with the organization's needs and mission.
Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following:
- Responsible for developing and managing integrated, strategy-aligned departmental work plans.
- Gives support to the Executive Director of Rooms.
- Be a role model for the company culture.
- Develops innovative initiatives to enhance internal efficiency and effectiveness.
- Directly supervises Managers and Administrative Assistants of the Rooms and other Operating Departments.
- Responsible for overall management to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Develops and interprets the organization's policies, procedures, purposes, and goals for subordinates.
- Reviews performance against operating plans and standards.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels.
- Must be able to be self-directed and work productively in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
- Excellent public presentation and interaction skills.
- Capacity to assume more significant executive responsibilities over time.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/trade school required. M.B.A is desirable.
- Minimum 08 years of multi-unit experience leading an operations team in a direct customer service environment.
- Experience in union environment a plus.
