Staff Accountant

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to support a highly respected organization in Columbia City. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Accounting and Finance department in a range of accounting functions, maintaining customer accounts, and managing company's charitable contributions.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the generation of customer billings and the posting of cash receipts to customer accounts
• Supporting the processing of accounts payable and vendor payments
• Helping in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports for the department
• Assisting in reconciling the trial balance to generate interim and annual financial statements
• Participating in maintaining the company's fixed asset database and depreciation schedules
• Carrying out various data analysis and summaries as requested by the department
• Assisting with sales tax and Form 1099 compliance
• Managing and coordinating company's charitable contributions and related activities
• Assisting with front office functions as needed, such as document imaging, filing, answering phones, welcoming guests
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) management.
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations.
• Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries.
• Experience with Form 1099.
• Knowledge of Fixed Assets accounting.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
