**Job Description Summary:**
The Radiation Therapist delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed bythe Radiation Oncologist. Prepares patients for a course of Radiation Therapy
inclusive of simulation, dose calculations and acquiring of treatment
parameters.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGEGraduate of approved Radiation Therapy Technology Training Program
INFORMATION SECURITYMaintains confidentiality of log-on password(s) and security of other
authentication devices (e.g., key fobs, proximity devices, etc.).
Ensures privacy and security of information entrusted to their care.
Uses company business assets and information resources for management-approvedpurposes only.
Adheres to all information privacy and security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Promptly reports information security incidents to the OhioHealth InformationSecurity Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESAdministers Radiation Therapy treatments on a daily basis.
Maintains daily record of treatment, inclusive of daily dosages andcalculations and other necessary treatment records.
Performs simulations, acquires treatment parameters, patient contours and dosecalculations.
Therapists who are scheduled to work 80 hours per pay, may be required to beon-call for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
Maintains patient schedules for In-Patients and Out-Patients communicatesfrequently with families and hospital personnel to maintain schedule
coordination and accommodate patients as best as possible.
Monitors patient Condition and progress on a daily basis. i.e., patientweighs, skin care, reaction, etc. .
Assists Radiation Oncologist in performance of Brachytherapy procedures.Oversees and directs clinical activities of Radiation Therapy Technology
students. Provides clinical insight to Radiologic Technology students, nursing
students, etc. as needed.
Participates in Department Clinical QA activities, new patient conference, tumor board and QRM.
AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESKnowledge and application of growth and development principles.
Utilization of effective communication strategies.
Implementation of specific technical factors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and
talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to
sit. The employee must regularly lift andor move up to 50 pounds. SpecificVision abilities required by this job include close Vision, distance Vision, and color Vision.

ARRT and licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, graduate of approved
Radiation Therapy Technology Training Program. BLS Certification
