Upper School Spanish Teacher

Specific responsibilities of the position include:
- Teach four Upper School sections of Spanish
- Grade student work and write reports as required
- Participate in all school, division, and departmental meetings, field trips, special activities, and rotational duties
- Serve as an academic advisor
- Maintain contact with advisees, deans, and parents as necessary
- Be committed to student learning, personal growth, and seek out and participate in professional growth opportunities embracing a growth mindset
Desired qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish required; Masters degree or higher preferred
- Ability and flexibility to teach various levels of Spanish courses; additional French proficiency preferred
- 3-5 years of experience teaching Spanish at the Upper School level
- Readiness to collaborate with department members to develop new curriculum enhancing student proficiency according to ACTFL guidelines
- Excitement for working with Upper School students
- Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
- Ability to use technology to diversify the authentic voices that students encounter
- A well-developed sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community members; a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Genuine excitement for and ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and parents
- Experience with running an exchange program with a school in a Spanish speaking country a plus
