Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis

As Vice President, FP&A and M&A, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal leadership role within Resource Innovations’ Finance Department. We are seeking a mission driven and dynamic leader to pilot our financial planning processes, drive strategic insights, and deliver financial visibility to support the growth of the company.

We are also seeking a strong integration leader to ensure effective and efficient pre and post integration processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key FP&A Responsibilities
  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Lead Resource Innovations’ FP&A team, overseeing all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Provide actionable insights to senior leadership to inform key business decisions and drive strategic growth.
  • Collaborative Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team by delivering comprehensive financial analysis, identifying risks and opportunities, and presenting data-driven recommendations.
  • Scalable Processes: Develop and implement scalable financial models and systems to support our rapidly growing organization, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Performance Management: Establish and track financial performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities to enhance profitability, efficiency, and cost management.
  • Investor Relations: Support capital allocation decisions, fundraising efforts, and other investor-related activities through robust financial analysis and presentations.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture aligned with Resource Innovations’ core values.
  • Data Integration: Work closely with operational and technology teams to integrate financial and operational data, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals.
Key M&A Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for diligence and integration-related communications between internal teams, leadership, and external partners.
  • Lead oversight and project management of diligence process to ensure all diligence items are delivered on time and evaluated by all key stakeholders. This include managing external consulting teams.
  • Develop and execute integration plans that align with the strategic objectives of the merger or acquisition and define integration goals, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate potential M&A opportunities, support and negotiate during prospective deals with external stakeholders, Lead deal valuation and analysis through IOI or LOI processes and for potential acquisition targets
  • Engage with Investors: Manage existing and prospective relationships in coordination with the CEO, CFO and CRO
  • Collaborate with finance and integration teams to track cost savings, revenue synergies, and the financial health of the integration.
  • Monitor operational efficiency and collaborate with the integration team to ensure that integration activities contribute to the realization of strategic business objectives.
  • Conduct post-integration assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the integration process.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive FP&A experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in M&A integration, project management, or business strategy.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a mid-sized organization ($100MM+ in revenue), preferably within the energy efficiency, utilities, or sustainability industries.
  • Track record of managing complex integration projects from inception to completion.

Skills:

  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Expertise in designing and managing scalable FP&A processes and systems.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana).
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Leadership:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation strongly preferred.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or other relevant certifications strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Familiarity with energy efficiency programs, demand-side management, or decarbonization initiatives.
  • Experience working in private equity-backed environments or preparing for IPO readiness.
  • Expertise in integrating financial and operational data using advanced tools or platforms
  • Experience with post-merger integration in a specific industry (e.g., technology, healthcare, finance, etc.).
