Are you looking for a Quality-of-life opportunity for a Tax Manager in the public sector, based in Mountain View, California...this could be your role! This role involves overseeing the overall client engagement, managing day-to-day deliverables within Tax.

You will be expected to understand the client's financial, business, and goals and implement strategies to achieve them.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate revenue from existing clients by identifying opportunities for expansion and evaluating retainer and billing agreements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and relationship manager for clients, their families, and outside service providers.
  • Manage outside service providers, including coordinating activities such as drafting documents for personal estate and entities.
  • Ensure tax compliance (filings, extensions, review of tax returns for client and related entities) for accuracy on material issues.
  • Successfully resolve complex tax issues through research and analysis, and proactively discuss issues and alternatives with clients.
  • Manage existing client revenue through review of work in progress and preparation of billings for special projects/consulting services provided by the client.
  • Develop internal and external networks to form strong working relationships with the aim of growing and generating new business opportunities.
  • Proactively communicate and discuss the impact of technical tax matters, and communicate to clients tax changes, implications, and potential impact to their financial strategies and goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities from within current client accounts or relationships and encourage cross-selling among service lines.
  • Use skills such as CCH ProSystem Fx, High-net-worth individual, Federal Income Tax Return, and Income Tax Return.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of experience as a Tax Manager in a public setting.
  • Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx is required.
  • The candidate must have experience working with high-net-worth individuals.
  • Experience in Federal Income Tax Return is essential.
  • The candidate must possess skills in preparing and reviewing Income Tax Returns.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are necessary.
  • The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • The candidate must have a thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex tax-related issues are required.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.
  • The candidate must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent client service skills are necessary.
  • The candidate must have a strong ethical compass and adhere to all industry standards and regulations.
