JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Maintenance Mechanic is a full-time position in our manufacturing facility This position plays a critical role in keeping our manufacturing plant running in top condition and ensures that our customers receive exceptional customer service.

This person filling this role is responsible for overall maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery as well as product loading (on-site training will be provided) including:

  • Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assigned.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance on automated and manual equipment.
  • Perform general repairs to plant structures. Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned.
  • Weld and use cutting torch as required.
  • Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Test malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and discuss with Plant or Site Manager for approval and repair.
  • Install equipment and electrical components and test to ensure the proper functioning.
  • Observe mechanical devices and equipment and listen to sounds to determine proper functioning or identify causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Replace and install parts as needed.
  • Lubricate and clean parts/replace packing and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory count of items in the warehouse.
  • Provide assistance, insight, and accountability for Plant Safety Committee.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
  • Understand and follow the safety rules and practices in accordance with the Company's safety manual and policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and operation manuals and follow step by step instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability are essential.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, progressive cavity pumps, preferred but not necessary.
  • Comfortable working at elevated heights and in OSHA defined confined spaces while wearing and using proper PPE.
  • Able to push, pull, lift up-to 75 lbs. independently.
  • Saturday hours may be possible.
  • Must be able to demonstrate lock-out/tag-out and confined area procedures.
  • State issued valid Driver's License; Commercial Driver's License is a plus, but not preferred.
  • Committed to working safely and following all policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of plant housekeeping fundamentals is essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear.
