The City of London, Ohio, is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. The London Division of Police serves a population of over 10,000 residents within a 9-square-mile area and has an authorized strength of 21 sworn officers.The City is seeking candidates who possess the character and skills necessary for a role of public trust. Applicants must be at least 21 years old by the date of hire and possess a valid Ohio drivers license. The City of London offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a starting wage of $25.18 per hour, shift differentials, uniform allowance, paid vacation after the first year, personal days, health insurance, educational allowances, and other benefits.
Entry-Level Applicants:Applicants who are not currently employed full-time as peace officers in Ohio must complete a written test through the National Testing Network (NTN). To register, applicants should visit the NTN website, select "Law Enforcement," and sign up for the London Police Department.
Score Adjustments:Applicants who achieve a raw score of 70% or greater on the entry-level examination may qualify for additional credit of up to 20% of the raw score. To receive credit, documentation must be submitted to the City of London Administrative Office by 4:00 PM on October 31, 2024.
Veterans Credit: Ohio residents honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces may receive an additional 20% credit. A copy of form DD214, including block 24, must be submitted with the application.Lateral Applicants:
Current full-time peace officers in Ohio are not required to take the written NTN test but must complete other stages of the hiring process. Previous full-time service will be considered when determining starting pay and leave benefits if selected.
