Summary
The Release Manager will assist in the planning, creating, scheduling and coordinating of the deployed release and work closely with cross functional teams to coordinate all activities leading up to the deployment. The RM will own the release management lifecycle across the enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios.Releases are primarily inclusive of application updates but may also include operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades and other assigned projects as requested by IT. Where necessary, the RM will provide tools and services to help product management and project teams to manage and deploy releases into production.
Roles & Responsibilities- Partner with teams to create, organize and execute a release strategy and plan
- Act as a single POC for coordinating activities across teams and groups that are involved in the release i.e. Applications, Help Desk,Infrastructure, Network and/or Security
- Create release documentation to support the needs of a release through its lifecycle, from planning to design, development, testing, and deployment to production environments
- Facilitate dialog with respective business and IT teams to ensure operational handoffs and readiness
- Communicate release schedules and expectations across all involved and impacted teams
- Communicate release status, activity progress and issues encountered throughout the duration of release activities
- Help troubleshoot and coordinate activities to resolve incidents and issues in non-prod and production environments
- Own change management requests and incorporate into existing RM cycles
- 5+ years of IT release management experience including change management exposure
- Strong communication, organizational and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- ITIL experience is a plus
