Collect and analyze historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future projects

  • Consult with clients, vendors, internal departments, and construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
  • Prepare estimates for management to support planning, organizing, and scheduling work
  • Analyze blueprints and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Review contracts and bid documents to understand the project scope and ensure accurate project turnover
-Participate in walk-throughs, pre-bid, and scope clarification meetings
-Perform quantitative take-offs and enter data into estimating software
  • Prepare scope letters and proposals for potential projects
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with the Engineering Department as needed
  • Ensure all estimating documents are centrally saved in the company's confidential drive
  • Assist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes
  • Escalate critical or sensitive issues to the Estimating Manager with recommended solutions
  • Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs
  • Perform additional duties as required by the company or as directed by executives
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the Construction Industry is required
  • Previous experience with Estimating is required
  • Previous experience with Sheet Metal is a plus
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines
  • Microsoft Office & PDF Viewer experience
  • AutoCAD Fabrication, EstMEP, Quotesoft experience
