Building Construction Products Sales Representative
Working Hours/Days: 8 hours minimum
Overview:
The purpose of the Building Construction Products (BCP) outside sales position in North Cook County, IL is to provide sales and support to the Caterpillar products. The salesperson is to sell new, used or rental fleet compact construction products carried by Altorfer.Moreover, develop new business while maintaining current customer accounts and executing the company’s policies and procedures.
Basic Duties:
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
- Maintain sales in North Cook County, IL while reaching or exceeding the personal sales goals set by the Management.
- Create sales opportunities with new clients while maintaining our current portfolio of business
- Setting regional marketing plans to penetrate the surrounding areas.
- Must be willing to take occasional sales calls after hours.
- Must be willing to call on customers out in the field.
- Organize and execute sales files, warranties, product rebates and financial documentation.
- Must be willing to reside within the boundaries of your assigned territory
- Predictable and regular attendance is required.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience – Five years of relative outside sales experience is required for the position.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Communication – Must handle incoming sales calls and face-to-face customer interactions thru product quotations and sales call procedures.
- Computer Skills – Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to learn Caterpillar & Company software.
- Organizational – Must be well organized, proficient in time management and work well with both tractor personal and Altorfer employees
- Personal Management – Must work with the department to reach the goals set by management and follow all company policies.

This position earns a base salary plus commission.
Posted Min: USD $40,000.00/Yr.
Posted Max: USD $60,000.00/Yr.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
This position works out of office environment and travels to meet customers. May, on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a period of time; answer telephone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Traveling is needed, to visit current and new customers.Walking and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required. Demonstration of equipment may be needed. Noise level in an office environment is usually moderate to low.
