Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit - RNPCU24-15607

Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM.

Job Description:

• As a PCU RN will be responsible for delivering holistic nursing care, assessing patient health needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and occasionally on the Medical-Surgical floor. You will educate patients and families about health conditions, provide emotional support, and ensure accurate medical records are maintained.
• You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide individualized care to patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient health needs and plan nursing care for all assigned patients.
• Implement nursing actions according to established standards of practice.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and modify them as needed to ensure responsible patient care.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding various health conditions.
• Direct and oversee the nursing care provided by other nursing staff.
• Float between the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical Unit as needed.

Requirements:

Experience:

• 2+ years of nursing experience – Required.
• Experience in PCU and Med Surg – Required.
• Prior travel experience – Preferred.
• Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience – Highly Preferred.

Certifications:

• Michigan RN License (MI LARA) – Required.
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) – Required.
