The successful candidate will also have a crucial role in building lasting relationships with business owners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Handle complex corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, business restructurings, and succession planning for closely-held businesses
• Advise clients on legal aspects of corporate governance, business continuity, and ownership transfers
• Collaborate with senior partners to provide strategic counsel on corporate growth, financing, and exit strategies
• Participate in client development activities and build long-term relationships with business owners and stakeholders
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Illinois Bar membership
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate transactional work, with a focus on M& A, venture capital, and corporate finance
• Transportable book of business preferred but not required
• Strong understanding of the legal challenges facing closely-held businesses
• Excellent communication and client management skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to lead and grow a corporate practice
• Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services with integrity and professionalism
