Systems Development Engineer, Production and Post Production Technology

The Production and Post Technology (P&PT) team focuses on providing media system solutions, setting content standards, delivering production technology services, and fostering innovation across on-premises and cloud-based environments for Amazon MGM Studios productions, operations, and partners.

The team’s goal is to drive operational excellence by developing and deploying scalable and cost-effective technology solutions within a secure environment. These solutions enhance creativity and deliver an exceptional customer experience for our production partners.

Key job responsibilities
  • Write code for the web front end (React, TypeScript)
  • Write code for the API/Backend (Lambda, TypeScript)
  • Manage and build infrastructure using CDK and CloudFomation
  • Design and build solutions that automate manual workflows
  • Participate in code reviews for the team to ensure quality code and mentoring of other team members

A day in the life

A typical day will be spent writing code, doing code reviews, mentoring team members, and designing systems or providing input on system designs.

About the team

The team focuses on building solutions and products for our Productions and Studio. In this role you will be building a first party product(s) that strives to vastly improve how the Media and Entertainment space produces content.- 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes- Experience with distributed systems at scale
  • Experience working in the Media and Entertainment space supporting Post Production teams and software.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
