Job Description

The responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes to ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Provide day-to-day support to manufacturing operations, troubleshooting issues, and working with cross-functional teams to resolve problems.
  • Work closely with quality engineers to ensure that processes comply with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality using lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for manufacturing processes, equipment validation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support validation and qualification of new equipment, processes, and product lines to ensure they meet industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, performance metrics, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Manufacturing Engineer will have the following qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in the medical device industry is required.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 and FDA requirements for medical devices.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Any internships or co-op experiences in manufacturing or engineering environments (preferred).
