Overview:

As an Accountant with MasTec Advanced Technologies you will prepare, analyze, and reconcile the company’s financial accounts including monthly close procedures; updates and maintains general ledger accounts and Oracle financial statement reports to ensure accurate, complete and timely deliverables.

Essential Duties
  1. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts.
  2. Prepare accurate financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
  3. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  4. Reviews and corrects sub-ledger transactions throughout the month and reviews preliminary financial statements for errors.
  5. Prepares, examines and analyzes accounting records. Enters GL journal entries in Oracle and reviews for standardization opportunities.
  6. Prepares monthly asset and liability account reconciliations.
  7. Calculates and records accrued expenses and allocations.
  8. Creates adjusting entries for intercompany transactions.
  9. Assists with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and reports on variances.
  10. Works with IT and IT consultant teams for periodic testing and analysis of Oracle system process modifications and systemic changes in response to changing business needs.
  11. Responsible for ensuring departmental compliance with established accounting policies and procedures, including all Sarbanes-Oxley policies and procedures as they relate to the daily operations of the business. Works closely with the internal/external auditors during quarterly and monthly audits.
OTHER DUTIES
  1. Participates in miscellaneous projects as assigned.
  2. Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $43,398-$68,431

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field or equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Experience

Minimum two (2) years of accounting experience, preferably in public corporate setting. Minimum of six (6) years accounting may be substituted for previously stated education and experience.

  • Expert knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP system.
  • Expert organizational and planning skills; ability to multi-task; attention to detail; productive without compromising quality.
  • Expert working knowledge of accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other commonly used business concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Expert interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
  • Solid ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data, extract essential elements and propose appropriate solutions working effectively in demanding work environment with changing priorities.
