Senior Estimator, Renewable Energy Construction

This person will have the opportunity to lead all preconstruction design review and estimating processes associated with the development of utility-scale solar, wind, and batter storage system projects, while also maintaining visibility and involvement with ongoing projects all the way through turnover.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

• Create competitive, accurate, and timely project cost estimates and preliminary schedules for large pipeline of distributed generation- and/or utility-scale solar, wind and battery storage projects
• Thoroughly investigate the specifications, scope of work, drawings, and other RFP documents to develop a complete understanding of the RFP requirements. Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the contract documents and the potential risks for a project
• Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships through entire RFP process including NDA
• Review major equipment specifications to determine cost impacts associated with new technology and support the project team in all facets of procurement and logistics as required
• Work with internal design and construction teams to review emerging technologies and methodologies that may generate labor savings, improve project output, or solve field problems to expand best practices
• Research, understand, and model design, labor, and material pricing variances from market-to-market to capture their impact on EPC pricing
• Review and incorporate historical data from estimates, cost data, indexes, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports to continually develop accurate unit pricing based on production rates and subcontractor input

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required
• 8-10 years of renewable energy estimating and/or project management experience required (utility-scale and commercial renewables projects preferred over strictly residential project experience)
• Previous design/build project experience of any type preferred
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Projects and/or P6 preferred
• Experience designing or reviewing drawings in AutoCAD or REVIT required
• Ability to travel nationwide as needed
