Our client is a high performing development firm with extensive experience with all aspects of project development, project finance, operations, and customer service which has made them a leader in the renewable energy industry with their project portfolio.

They develop projects from greenfield to shovel ready. They work on projects and portfolios in all stages of development, and work closely with all stakeholders on potential projects.

Job Description

The Senior Project Development Manager (Wind) will be responsible for:

  • Managing and executing the development of utility scale renewable energy projects from greenfield to COD
  • Leading projects, and mentoring more junior developers, to delivering necessary development tasks to move a portfolio of projects through various stages of the development life-cycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering team and external consultants to evaluate site layouts and constraints, technology options, schedule implications, interconnection applications and studies
  • Direct and conduct due diligence on development-stage project and portfolio acquisitions, including comparison and prioritisation of multiple opportunities based on common siting, permitting, interconnection, power-marketing and other project metrics
  • Manage external stakeholders supporting environmental assessment campaigns
  • Manage external stakeholders supporting property and sales tax abatement efforts
  • Manage occasional permitting activities with support from other team members
  • Prepare project budgets, schedules, and RFP responses

The Successful Applicant

The Senior Project Development Manager (Wind) will have
  • At least 5 years of utility-scale project development experience in the USA.
  • Direct experience with utility scale solar, storage or wind projects
  • Someone who see's the value in working with a strong leadership team that are prioritizing your own growth in line with the company's growth.
  • Experience with land development: landowner engagement, and negotiation/contracting, title resolution, agricultural land use/water restrictions
  • Knowledge of governmental mandates, environmental regulations or customer/market signals that impact or facilitate new development of renewable projects
  • Has a background in leading projects, at least through financial close at Notice to Proceed (NTP), but great if it's through Commercial Operation Date (COD).

Base salary of $180k depending on experience

Annual bonus of 40%
