Summer Intern- Junior Production Manager (Corporate Events)

Responsibilities:
Paid Internships at Production Resource Group are educational work experiences for individuals who wish to explore a career with PRG and/or develop hands-on knowledge and skill in the business of entertainment technology. PRG provides structured yet flexible programs where interns rotate through the various functions of a particular discipline, giving them a comprehensive overview of the different aspects of the field.
The internship program is 12 weeks. The Summer Program runs approximately *Mid to late May- Beg/Mid-August (*dates may vary)
Each Junior Production Manager intern will:
- Get hands-on experience in the technical aspects and business aspects of our Corporate Events business.
- Shadow PRG staff and perform actual work in every area of your discipline.
- *Intern may have option work at show site where PRG has installations such as live television, trade shows, corporate events and film productions (*not guaranteed)
- The intern will interact with several departments to gain a broad understanding of Entertainment Production from the Production Supplier (PRG) perspective.
- Get hands on experience:
- on the shop floor through different disciplines (video, light, rigging, audio, led)
- on production site through different assignments and actual productions
- in the office
- Position is responsible for production duties in relation to development needs
- Learn the pre-production, production, and wrap/delivery process at PRG
- Reports to a Production Manager and works closely with Account Executives
- Coordinating and obtaining all necessary materials for pitches
- Assist with presentations, meetings and other misc.
- Meet and track all deadlines for pitches and presentations
- Track all projects in development
- Update and distribute multiple reports
- Take extensive notes during meetings
Qualifications:
- May perform other incidental tasks, as needed.
- All applicants must be eligible to work in the country where the internship is located.
- For internships in the US, students must pass a drug test prior to employment.
- Must have an interest in working in the entertainment industry
- Experience / Knowledge of theatrical or entertainment production
- Working technical knowledge of live entertainment
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and nights as required
- Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint + must have ability to adapt to changing software applications
- Knowledge of Vectorworks / Autocad is a plus
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to identify and communicate creative solutions to challenges
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with client production teams including Producers, Directors etc via written and verbally
- Ability to pay close attention to details
- Ability to lead with a positive attitude and encourage collaboration
- Ability to manage time and balance priorities amid the pressures of busy, deadline-driven production
We are looking for applicants who match ANY of the following:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or higher-level degree program in theatre or entertainment
- Technology specializing in any of our disciplines or a complementary field
- Have received an appropriate degree within the past two years
- Have appropriate background in the entertainment technology industry
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time

The pay for this intern position is estimated to be $18 hr. Actual pay to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant combined with location and alignment with market data.
