We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant - Entry Level in our Savings & Loan Bank located in Stamford, Connecticut. As an entry-level accountant, you will be expected to manage accounting functions, perform bank reconciliations, and handle general ledger duties.
- Job Opening: Junior Accountant
We are on the hunt for a meticulous, efficient Commercial Bank Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the daily and monthly reconciliations of designated general ledger accounts. Your contribution will be vital to our accounting operations.
Responsibilities:
- Daily and monthly preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Maintaining account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts.
- Overseeing daily treasury activities, including wire preparation and processing.
- Administering the Accounts Payable process and the Fixed Assets process.
- Coordinating with Loan Servicing and Deposit Operations for daily commercial fee and suspense items.
- Monitoring general ledger exceptions and non-post issues.
- Monitoring sub-ledger balancing process and reporting.
Ideally, you're a seasoned bookkeeper with a solid understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various departments.

- Ability to use mathematics, including ratios, decimal, percentages, balancing, interest, graphs, tables, etc.
- Ability to prepare and balance ledger entries
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite with an emphasis on Excel and Word
- Able to contribute positively as part of a team
- Ability to work effectively with a strong will to help others
- Strong attention to detail, and highly organized
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Perform assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis
- Ability to recommend process improvements in the department to enhance efficiency
- Adheres to all applicable Policies and Procedures
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with a focus on Accounting.
