How you make a difference:
The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining smooth financial operations by supporting the Business Manager with accounting tasks such as accounts payable and payroll. This detail-oriented position ensures vendor invoices are processed in line with company policy, payroll data is accurately entered and reconciled, and financial reports are submitted on time.Additionally, the Staff Accountant contributes to month-end closings, monitors inventory, and supports contract compliance. Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Assist in maintaining payroll records, ensuring the accurate collection, processing, and reconciliation of employee hours, and correcting discrepancies as needed.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve payroll discrepancies by gathering, analyzing, and responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Invoice and PO Management: Review invoices for accuracy, match them to purchase orders, and ensure timely generation of authorization and approval.
- Vendor Management: Facilitate new vendor setup, establish or update vendor information, and coordinate with the accounts payable department.
- Financial Reporting Support: Assist with research and financial data compilation for budget preparation, forecasts, reports, variance analyses, and other management requests.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: Two (2) years’ experience in a payroll or accounts payable role.
- Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
