Position Summary:
NYU Dentistry is seeking an experienced events leader to serve as the Assistant Director for Special Events. This role will lead the project management and production of large-scale special events and ceremonies, including serving as the production lead for Graduation and White Coat Ceremony at major NYC venues such as Madison Square Garden and Lincoln Center.The Assistant Director for Special Events will liaise between the Office of Student Engagement and other areas of the College and University, as well as with external venues and vendors to plan and manage all aspects of special events that meet the strategic goals of the College of Dentistry.
The Assistant Director will utilize project management tools and strategies to execute the full cycle of events and ceremonies, including developing project timelines and run of show, managing budgets, negotiating with vendors and venues, processing contracts, and training and overseeing teams of event volunteers for multiple College-wide cermonies and events each academic year.
Qualifications:
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Required Experience: 5+ years experience planning and implementing special events or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience executing large scale events and ceremonies. Experience managing large teams of volunteers.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in project management, budget management, and special events production strongly preferred.
Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $85,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
