Tool Technician - Columbus

Overview:

Stryten Energy, manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive and consumer markets. Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.

Performs various duties related to maintenance and upkeep of tooling, machinery, and related equipment. This will include the repair of industrial tooling for plastic injection machines, analyzing operational problems, testing equipment, correcting issues, developing, and maintaining plans, and providing input and suggestions regarding tooling and molding issues.

This is a 1st shift (7am - 3pm) opening

Pay rate: $29.71/hour

Responsibilities:

• Safety is our overriding priority. If an unsafe condition is found to exist, actions must be taken immediately to correct the situation to keep all team members safe and get manufacturing equipment operational as soon as possible.
• Perform various duties relating to maintenance and upkeep of tooling and related plastic injection molding equipment.
• Schedule repairs to meet project schedule and requirements.
• Assist in developing and maintaining plans for preventative maintenance for machinery and equipment.
• Analyze mechanical and operational issues on assigned equipment and develop corrective action.
• Operate necessary equipment including lathes, drill presses, grinders, hand tools, and other associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues in the production area and in the tooling room, recommend and implement solutions to fix problems.
• Test equipment and machinery for operation after repairs are made.
• Assist in the training and development of new employees including operators, maintenance technicians.
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet specified deadlines.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures including the use of PPE and safety equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, and other lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum five (5) years’ experience injection molding toolroom or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
• Journeyman Machinist
• Must function well in a team environment and must communicate well with others.
• Good attendance and performance work history.
• Motived self-starter that can productively work alone and in groups to solve problems.
• Must have proven mechanical ability.
• Must complete a forklift driving training program.
• Must learn proper lifting skills of up to 10,000 lbs. with a forklift or crane.
• Must complete a Lock Out/Tag Out training program.
• Must have the ability and willingness to work as needed/required to complete required work and communicate with other shifts.

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
• Able to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
