Overview:
The mission of Helio Health is to promote recovery from the effects of substance use and mental health disorders and other behavioral health issues. The Cook will work Full-Time providing nutritious meals to residents in our Residential Programs throughout the Syracuse area.The schedule will be Mon-Fri., 7:30am - 4pm.
In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, this position is eligible for a Sign-On Incentive of up to $1,500!
Pay Rate: $15.00 - $16.16 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and serves planned meals for clients living in the Community Residence.
- Takes direction from Team Leader/Residence Manager and keeps him/her informed regarding content of workload.
- Communicates with kitchen staff regarding Quality Assurance.
- Performs general kitchen and stock work as well as monitors equipment and supplies.
- Maintains a sanitary & safe workstation and participating in Quality Assurance activities such as:
- Provide services according to agency policies and procedures and governmental regulations.
- Identify strengths and/or problems regarding Quality Assurance.
- Assist with problem resolution and implementing modifications.
- Maintains an inventory of food and kitchen equipment.
- Ensures inventory is adequate to meet the menu plan.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate/Equivalency.
- Valid Driver's License to commute between programs.
- Food service experience and techniques.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
