Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving double-digit annual growth and expanding Mircom’s market share in the U.S. by executing a strategic sales plan. This includes building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and achieving sales goals across immediate, mid-term, and long-term timeframes.
The position covers Florida, with a focus on the I-75 corridor extending to the Georgia state line, ensuring full market coverage in northern Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute Mircom’s strategic plans, while upholding Mircom’s values at all times.
- Exceed the territory’s revenue and customer targets.
- Conduct lunch & learns to promote Mircom products to the A&E community ensuring specifications and visibility
- Engage with electrical contractors to convert them to self-performing installations or provide leads to ESDs
- Uncover project opportunities via Construct connect, networking and other sources
- Provide quotations and value engineering to assist ESDs in securing projects
- Conduct joint sales calls with ESDs to meet developers, management companies and end-users
- Build and maintain relationships across the market and within vertical markets to expand market share
- Attend and participate in trade association meetings and trade shows
Requirements and Skills:
- College Diploma or University Degree preferred
- 2 to 5 years experience in sales or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in the Fire/Security industry is an asset
- Self-motivator with proven organizational track record.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of PC based applications (Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel)
- Working knowledge of D365 would be an asset.
- Possess a current valid driver’s license
- Hold a NICET certification is a bonus
- Strong problem solver with a creative, solution-oriented approach
- Technically proficient to review/discuss project plans
- Strong relationship management skills
- Well developed sales strategies and operational execution
- Adaptability and responsiveness to market changes and shifting dynamics
- Willingness to travel within the territory, including some overnight and air travel.
