Tax Preparer

We are offering a contract for a Tax Preparer role in Troy, New York. This role is within the accounting industry and requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual. As a Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for preparing various tax returns, serving as a technical resource to clients and team members, and ensuring consistent high-quality work with attention to detail.

• Prepare various types of tax returns including 1040, 990, 1120, 1065, and multi-state returns.
• Provide technical assistance to clients and other team members.
• Ensure consistent high-quality work with close attention to detail.
• Handle Schedule C’s and other return types.
• Monitor and manage customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary.
• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate customer records and resolve customer inquiries as needed. • Proven experience as a Tax Preparer
• Proficiency in tax preparation software
• Deep knowledge of tax laws and regulations
• Demonstrable skills in Corporate Tax Return preparation
• Hands-on experience with Trust Tax processes
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent time management skills to meet tight deadlines
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients and understand their requirements
• Proficiency in Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred
• Certification from a national organization such as the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) would be an advantage.
